This is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm whether someone is in custody, release anyone, post bond, pull booking records, change a court date, or answer for Northern Neck Regional Jail, the Northumberland County Sheriff's Office, VADOC, BOP, ICE, or any court.

Where to Ask for Official Help

Use the office that matches the record or custody question. Northumberland County arrestees are usually held through Northern Neck Regional Jail, while sheriff records, court filings, state-prison custody, federal custody, immigration detention, and notification services use different systems.

  • For a current local or regional jail custody question, start with Northern Neck Regional Jail, 3908 Richmond Road, Warsaw, VA 22572. Call 804-333-6419 and select Option 1, use the automated inmate/facility line at 804-250-1750, or call the family liaison at 804-333-6022.
  • For Northumberland County Sheriff's Office records, FOIA requests, or law-enforcement records held by the sheriff, contact Chief Deputy Allen Garland at foia@northumberlandsheriff.net, mail Allen Garland, Chief Deputy, Northumberland County Sheriff's Office, P.O. Box 310, Heathsville, VA 22473, or call 804-580-5221. The sheriff's office is located at 195 Judicial Place, Heathsville, VA 22473.
  • For court-filed criminal or traffic charges after an arrest, use court records after a jail arrest and the Virginia court systems. Northumberland County Circuit Court is at 220 Judicial Place, Heathsville, VA 22473, phone 804-580-3700, with posted hours of 8:30 a.m.-4:45 p.m.
  • For prosecution-office questions, the Northumberland County Commonwealth's Attorney is Jane Wrightson. The county directory lists the office phone as 804-580-4471.
  • For a sentenced state prisoner, probationer, parolee, or person under Virginia Department of Corrections authority, use the VADOC Inmate and Supervisee Locator. A person may leave the regional jail lookup path after transfer to state custody.
  • For federal custody, use the Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locator for sentenced federal prisoners and the U.S. Marshals Eastern District of Virginia for federal pretrial custody routing. County and regional jail staff usually cannot explain BOP release-date calculations.
  • For immigration detention, use ICE's Online Detainee Locator System. ICE searches may require an A-number, country of birth, date of birth, or exact legal name.
  • For release and custody-status notifications, use Virginia VINE. VINE is useful when you need alerts, but it does not replace direct confirmation from Northern Neck Regional Jail or the court clerk.
  • For booking-photo background, see jail roster mugshots. Virginia law-enforcement record access can involve Va. Code 2.2-3706, and expungement questions are governed separately by Va. Code 19.2-392.2.
