Search Terms
When you type a name, county, or location into a search tool on this site, that query may be sent to the third-party provider that powers the tool. Northumberland County Inmate Population does not keep its own log of those search terms or store official inmate, booking, mugshot, or court records.
Messages
If you email us or send a message through a contact method, we keep the contents long enough to review and respond. We do not share those messages outside the organization unless a valid legal requirement compels disclosure.

Virginia public records laws, including Va. Code 2.2-3704 and law-enforcement record rules in Va. Code 2.2-3706, govern requests made to public bodies. Those laws do not make this private site the custodian of sheriff, jail, court, or VADOC records.
